Global Axis Import Solutions have secured a portion of Australia’s $15.2 billion horticultural sector, in an exclusive distributorship with Europe’s largest growing media supplier, Kekkilä-BVB. Through the arrangement, the Adelaide-based business will have access to an increased amount of product including horticultural peat and growing substrates that they can import and supply in Australia and New Zealand for the professional growing market.

With headquarters in Finland and The Netherlands, as well as various offices in Europe and globally, Kekkilä-BVB provides products and services for professional greenhouse growers, consumers and landscapers in over 100 countries.

Global Axis is the perfect partner for Kekkilä-BVB, and there has been a long existing relationship between the companies. There is a deep understanding in Global Axis for the Australian and New Zealand horticultural industry, and they are very successful in serving their customers. We believe that this is the best way to ensure the continued success of local growers,” says Vesa Tempakka, CEO of Kekkilä-BVB.

Long time advocates and suppliers of the Australian mushroom industry, Global Axis is a family business with a long and successful history of working with Kekkilä-BVB. They have distributed their casing soil and other products to the mushroom industry across Australia and New Zealand for the last several decades.

Managing Director Carmine Callisto said Global Axis would now have access to the full range of Kekkilä-BVB’s highly regarded products at a time of increasing consumer demand for fresh produce.

Whether it’s for the ever-popular mushrooms or the health-conscious fresh berry market, our customer-base of local and national fresh-produce farmers rely heavily on a dependable source of horticultural products and equipment. This also includes nurseries, who count on a reliable and constant stream of peat and potting soil to grow seedlings. These seedlings are then purchased by farmers and growers throughout Australia and New Zealand,” Carmine said.

“The end-game is to ensure that consumers everywhere can access quality fresh produce. Global Axis are proud to continue being a vital source in the horticultural supply-chain, and with this new arrangement, we will now be even better equipped to meet this on-going demand.

Carmine said he and his team were continuously exploring innovative solutions to ensure they can provide the best service possible.

We have a thorough understanding of the market and are excited about the new possibilities that lie ahead to serve our now expanded network of partners, suppliers and customers.”

Carmine and the team, including Business Manager Michael Callisto will work closely with René van der Meché from Kekkilä-BVB, who will continue in his role as Sales Director Middle East/Africa and Australia alongside existing members of the executive team. Also Hans Nendels, Business Specialist Mushrooms from Kekkilä-BVB, will be strongly involved in the future as well.
