Andy Swan has joined Global Axis as our Sales Manager. With over 30 years of experience across the protected cropping, nursery, sports turf, environmental, and retail horticulture sectors, Andy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. His career has been defined by his dedication to sustainability, product development, and technical support, making him a perfect fit for our company’s forward-thinking vision.
When asked what attracted him to join Global Axis, Andy highlighted the team culture and the personalities of the leadership. Having worked with Carmine for decades, Andy knew this would be a collaborative, enjoyable work environment where innovation and teamwork thrive. ‘It’s good fun working with people you trust and respect,’ Andy shared, emphasising the importance of a positive workplace culture.
In his role at Global Axis, Andy focusses on berry crops and nursery projects, helping to expand our presence across Australia. Based in the Blue Mountains, where he has lived for the past 25 years, Andy will be travelling interstate to Tasmania, Queensland, and Victoria to build relationships with local growers. His specialisation in coir and peat blends will be key in developing innovative growing media for food, flowers, and ornamental plants.
Andy’s career has been diverse and impressive. From starting out as a pizza chef and landscaper, he found his way into the horticulture industry, where he has made significant contributions, including substrate development and the protection of greenhouses. A career highlight for Andy was his work with the National Botanic Gardens in Canberra, a testament to his passion and commitment when it comes to protecting and nurturing plant life.
Andy will be looking to grow the market and introduce new lines that aren’t currently available in Australia, which will service our customers on a whole new level.
His passion for connecting good people to create successful partnerships will enhance his efforts as he works to bring fresh innovations to Global Axis and the wider horticulture industry.
Andy stays ahead of industry trends by reading journals, engaging in discussions with industry leaders, and attending trade shows. Networking at these events has been key to his success, as it allows him to stay informed about the latest technologies and developments. He enjoys the opportunity to meet people, share ideas, and learn about new innovations shaping the future of horticulture.

Outside of work, Andy is an avid gardener. He enjoys growing herbs and tomatoes at home. His favourite berry is Tasmanian raspberries, and his go-to mushroom is the classic button variety.
